Después de las clases, we got the tranvía out to the University of Valencia where we ate our lunch outside on the grass in the sun. Marta decided that we would do a class outside beside a huge wooden statue of a bull at the University. Me and Ione got picked to practice our Spanish oral skills while Marta recorded it on camera.
We also did a mock interview with Vero where we answered questions about our time in Valencia!
After this, we headed to the bus stop where we headed out to the Aussie Surf Club for the last time 🙁 We did our el calentamiento (warm-up) with Ruben and then hit the waves! The sea was very choppy as it was windy so, thankfully, there were lots of big waves to ride into the shore! The others managed to get standing on their boards but today was not my day and so I did not, but I had fun trying! After doing the surfing for an hour, we swam around in the water for a few minutes and then got ready to head back. We got showered and dried and said goodbye to Ruben, David, and the Aussie Surf Club for the last time 🙁 We hopped back on the bus, wrecked, and headed home for the night.
When we got back to Valencia, we still had an hour before we needed to be home for dinner so we enjoyed a bit of free time. The girls went to a nearby park where they could sit and chat in the shade while me and Gemma went into the old area of Benimaclet where there was a small pedestrian square, some cool buildings decorated with tiles and a little church. Gemma wanted to get some tapas in a popular restaurant there so we relaxed there until I had to get the metro back to my Spanish home.
