Our first Transition Year course in 2025 is well underway. Students flew over with Edel on Sunday January 12th and are half-way through the 4 week course.
Teachers Miguel and Irene are happy with the progress of the students in the morning classes. Students study for 4 hours in small classes with a particular emphasis on speaking and communication, as well as introducing them to Leaving Cert style questions and exercises.
Our afternoon activities are designed to keep the students as busy as possible, and after two weeks they have already done the following activities and excursions: a walking tour of Valencia, yoga on the beach, indoor wall climbing and visit to the Fallas museum, a traditional dance class and language exchange with local secondary school students, a visit to the Tutankhamun exhibition, a visit to a local food market followed by a paella cooking workshop, an outing to the city of Arts and Sciences, an outdoor sports workout, a visit to the Bioparc, an art studio workshop and a visit to the Oceanographic – the largest aquarium in Europe.
And that’s only after 2 weeks – there are another 2 weeks of activities to come!
Everyone is having an enjoyable time, the students are working hard and coming along nicely with their Spanish skills and it’s great to see them becoming more confident every day.
