After a busy week of classes and activities, we were given a lie in. We didn’t have to meet until 11 am and we got that extra few hours sleep we all needed.
We met up with Francesca, the activities coordinator, before getting on the tram to the bike rental shop. When we were all given our bikes we headed for the riverbed. El Río Turia is a very famous river in Valencia, known for its floods. The riverbed is now an attraction known as the Garden of Turia. After 2 hours of cycling, we reached the beach and there were loads of stalls to look around. Daniel, in particular, loves these to find presents for his family back at home. He always manages to find some strange things to buy for a great price.
After the long cycle, Abby and Ulan were feeling the hunger so we decided to find somewhere we could all sit down and enjoy some Spanish Tapas. Ulan and I got some calamares while Aoibhín and David enjoyed patatas bravas.
We met back with the rest of the group for the cycle back. Daisy and I got back on our bikes and the first thing we noticed was our aching bums from the cycle over. We cycled through the pain and tried not think about it! Daniel loved the speed of cycling and was always at the front of the group.
We arrived back and decided the best thing for us was a relaxing afternoon on the beach. Ulan and Dasiy got mango smoothies and we lay in the sun before heading home.
