Today’s Sunday, so an extra few hours sleep 😊. We all met up at 10:45 am and headed for a coastal town outside of Valencia called Peñiscola. The bus journey took about 2 hours but we all chatted the whole way so the time flew by.
Peñiscola is a very beautiful town with so much to see and do! There is a huge castle and miles and miles of beach. We were given the opportunity to do whatever we wished for about four hours. Myself and Daisy took this opportunity to sunbathe and work on our tans. Daisy headed straight into the sea but she had to run because the sand was so hot it was like walking on lava! The water here was very refreshing and not quite as warm as the water in Valencia. Daisy and I were very happy about this as cold water was exactly what we needed after sunbathing.
David, Ulan, Abby, Daniel and Aoibhín went and got pizza instead and wandered around many of the shops. Aoibhín managed to get some postcards to send back to her family in Galway.
We all then went on a tour of the castle and surrounding areas. It is a very picturesque town and is actually the set for some parts of the series of Game of Thrones. We saw some magnificent views from the castle looking out on the deep blue ocean.
After a tiring day, we got on the bus home and Aoibhín, Daniel and I fell straight asleep.
