Above all days, today was the day I was most looking forward to. We met up at 10 am to go to a place outside the city, up in the mountains, called Montanejos – a town with amazing hot springs. After about an hour and a half on windy roads we went right up to the top of a mountain. We got off the bus and began a hike down to the swimming areas.
The hike took about 2 hours but it was very tough as temperatures were over 30 degrees today. When we got down we were looking forward to jumping straight in to some refreshing water. Daisy went in straight away and encouraged me to do the same. Although the water felt very cold, it was definitely what we all needed!
The landscapes in Montanejos are very picturesque so Abby and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to get some Instagram-worthy pictures, all thanks to our patient photographer Daisy!
Aoibhín and David then joined us and we stayed in the water for hours swimming around and jumping off rocks.
Daniel spent a lot of time today sitting in the sun and working on a story he is writing which I believe is coming along very well.
