After classes today we had a really fun activity of going paddle surfing outside of the city to a little village called Pobla de Farnals. Alba took us out on the bus to get there. The surfing was in a surf school called Aussie Surf School and we were taught by Rubén, one of the teachers. I remember Rubén from 2 years ago when I did the course as a student with CSS and so it was great to see him again. We all learned a lot about paddle surfing technique and we had perfected it by the end of the class……. well almost 😉. As a test of our new skills, Rubén decided it would be a good idea for us to have a race; we were split into teams and paddled the best we could – In the end, myself Abby and Aoibhín won.
We all had a really good time and what surprised us the most was the temperature of the water. To us, it felt like a bath in comparison to the icy Irish sea.
Abby and David are really looking forward to doing it again next week.
